Before your first visit, we will mail you an informational DVD giving you background information about orthodontics in our office and what you may expect. Roberta will greet you and give you a short tour of our office. Dr. Burns will evaluate and document your orthodontic needs. A DVD recording will be made of your orthodontic diagnosis and treatment possibilities. This DVD will be given to you to take home.

One of three outcomes will be determined at first visit:

Treatment is needed now
Treatment will be needed but it would be better for you that we wait for growth, tooth eruption, etc.
Treatment is not needed.
If treatment is indicated, Dr. Burns will be able to explain the treatment options, give you a close approximation of the length of treatment, and explain the financial obligations and options. If you are ready for treatment, diagnostic records will be needed to enable Dr. Burns to accurately plot your specific needs and course of treatment. We are the only orthodontist in the area to use a digital x-ray machine. This reduces your exposure and allows us to make and even email copies to your dentist and other dental specialist.
